A couple of months ago, I moved from Central Florida over to the Gulf Coast. We moved to be closer to the water (we are big into boating), but in doing that, I left a house that had an extra bedroom….a glorious extra bedroom that I was able to use 100% as a craft room!
I love my new house (it is honestly a dream come true to be on the water), but I lost that beloved extra bedroom. But… one thing this house does have is a decent-sized storage shed…. and so we have been turning it into an office/workshop for me to use. Here’s what it started as (I took this picture back in the house-hunting stage, before we’d actually bought the house):
Not too shabby in the space department, right? It’s about 8′ x 12′, which is just about exactly the total space I used to have, minus a closet. It was very dusty and dirty and storage-shed-y, so we’ve completely taken it apart and started from scratch. The hardest thing I’ve found about designing it, is that it’s a longer, narrower room, rather than a perfect square like my old space.
It’s been a lot of work so far, but I gotta say… it is starting to look pretty awesome. I’ll share pictures of the finished project soon!
In the meantime, I’ve been scouring Pinterest for inspiration and ideas.
What a dream these rooms would be to work in, eh?

I love the black & white here. (And visit her site, too – she posted a huge list of awesome ideas for organizing a craft room.)
Oh my gosh, to have this much space…
….or this many drawers!
I love the idea of a big comfy chair in my craft room. I don’t think I’ll have room for that, though. (Love the wall words, too.)
This is just adorable. The pastel colors are so pretty (Click through to see other angles of this room):
Great use of small space (like mine!)
One thing is for sure…..a craft room is obviously not a craft room without an awesome, vintage-y-looking chandelier. I’ll have to add that to my list. 🙂
