Driving traffic to your Etsy shop through a blog.

I’ve made it no secret that I believe blogging is one of the very best things you can do to drive traffic to your shop, whether it’s an Etsy shop, an eBay shop, or any shop.

I received an email the other day from a fellow blogger and crafter, Shavonta, and she said that’s exactly what she wants to do with her own blog, at iLoveVonnie.com. She is blogging all about cooking & crafting, and would like to eventually create a stream of traffic from her blog, leading to her Etsy shop.

Shavonta asked if I’d take a look at her blog and let her know if I thought she was heading in the right direction, and if I had any suggestions for improvements. Her blog is beautiful, but I just had a few simple little tweaks to suggest, that I believe will help increase her organic traffic, build her email list, and get more visits to her Etsy shop.

And, she is graciously allowing me to share those suggestions here!

Here are a few resources that will help with some of the things I referenced in the video:

The Yoast SEO plugin for WordPress will allow you to make custom title tags for your home and post pages.

And, for keyword research, I use the Google Keyword Planner. (It’s mainly for using with Adwords, but you don’t have to buy ads in order to use the tool. You can set up an account for free.)

What do you all think of this Mason Jar for holding your makeup brushes (and for anything else)? iLoveit. 🙂
